BHC is committed to providing the information and tools you need to stay healthy, manage illness and get better faster. Through our healthcare program that includes medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverages, eligible employees and their dependents are protected against catastrophic situations.
The corporation subsidizes a large portion of the cost and employee premiums are required for most coverages. The employee portion of the premiums are deducted on a pre-tax basis.
Medical coverage for eligible employees begins on the first day of employment.
Additional Health Care Benefits
Wellness Newsletter
A company-paid subscription provides each employee with a professional wellness newsletter. This monthly newsletter is sent to employees’ homes so family members can benefit as well.
Wellness Health Promotion Program
On a biannual basis, BHC provides wellness services to eligible employees and/or their spouses. The services provided are a voluntary clinical review of personal health. A medical contractor is brought into the workplace to provide testing and evaluation services. The services provided are at no cost to the employee or the employee’s spouse. Participants are provided a report and personal coaching if desired. The services are limited to participating subsidiaries.
Prescription Mail Order Cost Savings Option
Employees can elect to save on maintenance medication prescriptions; a 90-day supply at a 60-day supply cost.
Healthcare Flexible Spending Account
Save money on your federal income taxes by contributing to a Health Care Flexible Spending Account. You set aside a certain amount from each pay period on a pre-tax basis to pay your share of medical, dental and vision expenses that your BHC healthcare benefits do not pay for, such as co-pays, deductibles, approved over-the-counter drugs and medications; $5,000 annual maximum. As you pay for these expenses, you are reimbursed from your account on a tax-free basis.
Supplemental Health
Supplemental coverage is available at a group rate. Supplemental products are fully portable. |
